Affordable Baby Push Walker DIY
I’ve gotten so many messages asking where we got Atli’s push cart walker so I thought I’d make a little post about it.
We started noticing that little one was developing quickly when at 6 months he crawled (yes it’s army crawling but it’s something other than being a little blob unable to move but grunting because he wants to) and within a week he was fully crawling from one end of the house to the other. He refused to sit up on his own, but finally just shy of 8 months he started to sit up and then within a couple weeks he was pulling himself up onto things and standing. We decided we wanted to let him explore and give him some more freedom so I went on the hunt for a push walker. There are so many amazing options out there and some come with a hefty price tag too. We wanted something affordable but also pretty enough that we could leave out and not feel embarrassed by the obnoxious colours when we have visitors.
We got this push walker from IKEA. Before putting it together, Matt spray painted the sides white so that it matched our furniture better. It took just a few coats and then it was done! It’s quite light, so we put some weights and heavier objects in it to keep Atli from falling backwards with it.
Let me know if you’d like more posts on Atli stuff! I should make more of an effort to share our favourite items we have for him. You can see them HERE. I’ll be adding more things to it soon!
